Jesus sits in humiliation after the scourging, clothed in a royal robe and crowned with thorns while blood marks His garments and hands. Around Him, soldiers and onlookers crowd into the stone courtyard, some bowing in cruel imitation of worship while a spear, helmet, and sword underscore the violence of Roman power.
