37 While Jesus was speaking, a Pharisee asked him to dine with him, so he went in and reclined at table.38 The Pharisee was astonished to see that he did not first wash before dinner.39 And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness.40 You fools! Did not he who made the outside make the inside also?41 But give as alms those things that are within, and behold, everything is clean for you.42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, and neglect justice and the love of God. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others.43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seat in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces.44 Woe to you! For you are like unmarked graves, and people walk over them without knowing it.”45 One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying these things you insult us also.”46 And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets whom your fathers killed.48 So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs.49 Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’50 so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation,51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.52 Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”53 As he went away from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to press him hard and to provoke him to speak about many things,54 lying in wait for him, to catch him in something he might say.
Mark 7
1 예루살렘에서 온 바리새파사람들과 률법학자 몇사람이 예수를 보려고 왔다가2 제자들 가운데서 몇사람이 손을 씻지 않고 깨끗하지 못한 손으로 음식을 먹는 것을 보았다.3 원래 바리새파사람들과 모든 유대사람들은 조상의 전통에 따라 음식을 먹기전에 반드시 손을 깨끗이 씻었으며4 또 시장에서 돌아왔을 때에는 반드시 몸을 씻고나서야 음식을 먹는 관습이 있었다. 그밖에도 지켜야 할 관습이 많았는데 가령 잔이나 단지나 놋그릇 같은 것을 씻는 일들이 그것이였다.5 그래서 바리새파사람들과 률법학자들은 예수께 ≪왜 당신의 제자들은 조상의 전통을 따르지 않고 깨끗하지 못한 손으로 음식을 먹습니까.≫라고 따졌다.6 예수께서는 그들에게 이렇게 대답하셨다. ≪이사야가 무엇이라고 예언했느냐. ＜이 백성이 입술로는 나를 공경하여도 마음은 나에게서 멀리 떠나있구나.7 그들은 나를 헛되이 례배하며 사람의 계명을 하나님의 것인양 가르친다.＞ 고 했는데 이것은 바로 너희와 같은 위선자를 두고 한 말이다.8 너희는 하나님의 계명을 버리고 사람의 전통을 고집하고 있다.≫9 예수께서는 계속하여 다음과 같이 말씀하시였다. ≪너희는 그 전통을 지킨다는 구실로 교묘하게 하나님의 계명을 어기고 있다.10 모세가 ＜부모를 공경하라＞고 하였고 또 ＜아버지나 어머니를 욕하는자는 반드시 사형을 받는다.＞고 하였는데11 너희는 누구든지 아버지나 어머니에게 ＜제가 해드려야 할 것을 하나님께 바쳤습니다.＞라는 뜻으로 ＜고르반＞이라고 한마디만 하면 된다고 하면서12 자기 아버지나 어머니에게 아무것도 해드리지 못하게 하고있으니13 이것이 바로 전해오는 전통을 핑게삼아 하나님의 말씀을 무시하는 일이 아니고 무엇이냐. 너희는 이밖에도 그런 일을 많이 하고 있다.≫14 예수께서 다시 사람들을 모으시고 이렇게 가르치셨다. ≪너희는 나의 말을 새겨들어라.15 무엇이든지 밖에서 몸안으로 들어가는 것이 사람을 더럽히는 것이 아니라16 더럽히는 것은 도리여 사람에게서 나오는 것이다.≫17 예수께서 군중을 떠나 집에 들어가셨을 때에 제자들이 그 비유의 뜻을 묻자18 예수께서는 ≪너희는 그렇게도 알아듣지 못하느냐. 밖에서 몸안으로 들어가는 것은 사람을 더럽히지 못한다는 것을 모르느냐.19 모두 배속에 들어갔다가 그대로 뒤로 나가버리지 않느냐. 그것들은 사람의 마음속으로 파고들어가지 못한다.≫고 하시면서 모든 음식은 다 깨끗하다고 하셨다.20 그리고 다시 이렇게 말씀하셨다. ≪참으로 사람을 더럽히는 것은 사람에게서 나오는 것이다.21 안에서 나오는 것은 곧 마음에서 나오는 것인데 음행, 도적질, 살인.22 간음, 탐욕, 악의, 사기, 방탕, 질투, 배신, 중상, 교만, 어리석음 같은 여러 가지 악한 생각들이다.23 이런 악한것들은 모두 안에서 나와 사람을 더럽힌다.≫
Matthew 11
20 Then he began to denounce the cities where most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.21 “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you.23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.”25 At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;26 yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 15
1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said,2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.”3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,”6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God.7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”10 And he called the people to him and said to them, “Hear and understand:11 it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”12 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?”13 He answered, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be rooted up.14 Let them alone; they are blind guides. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”15 But Peter said to him, “Explain the parable to us.”16 And he said, “Are you also still without understanding?17 Do you not see that whatever goes into the mouth passes into the stomach and is expelled?18 But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person.19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.20 These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
