11 ≪나는 착한 목자이다. 착한 목자는 자기 양을 위하여 목숨을 바친다.12 목자가 아닌 삯군은 양들이 자기것이 아니기 때문에 이리가 가까이 오는 것을 보면 양을 버리고 도망쳐버린다. 그러면 이리는 양들을 물어가고 양떼는 뿔뿔이 흩어져버린다.13 그는 삯군이여서 양들을 조금도 생각하지 않기 때문이다.14 나는 착한 목자이다. 나는 내 양들을 알고 내 양들도 나를 안다.15 이것은 마치 아버지께서 나를 아시고 내가 아버지를 아는것과 같다. 나는 내 양들을 위하여 목숨을 바친다.16 나에게는 이 우리안에 들어있지 않은 다른 양들도 있다. 나는 그 양들도 데려와야 한다. 그러면 그들도 내 음성을 알아듣고 마침내 한 떼가 되여 한 목자아래 있게 될 것이다.≫17 ≪아버지께서는 내가 목숨을 바치기 때문에 나를 사랑한다. 그러나 결국 나는 다시 그 목숨을 얻게 될 것이다.18 누가 나에게 목숨을 빼앗아가는 것이 아니라 내가 스스로 바치는 것이다. 나에게는 목숨을 바칠 권리도 있고 다시 얻을 권리도 있다. 이것이 바로 내 아버지께서 내가 받은 명령이다.≫

1 The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein,2 for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers.3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD? And who shall stand in his holy place?4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.5 He will receive blessing from the LORD and righteousness from the God of his salvation.6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
