Description
Thorny plants rise from cracked, stony ground, their jagged leaves and bristled heads spreading across dry earth. The barren soil and encroaching weeds point directly to Jesus’ Parable of the Soils, where seed falling among thorns is choked and made unfruitful. In the teaching of Christ, the thorns represent the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and desires that crowd out the word before it bears fruit. The hard fissures, scattered stones, and stubborn growth make the spiritual lesson visible: a heart may receive the seed, yet remain occupied by rival roots. This artwork serves well for sermons, Bible studies, discipleship lessons, and teaching resources on spiritual receptivity, temptation, fruitfulness, and the call to cultivate good soil for the Word of God.
