14 그리고 성전뜰에서 소, 양, 비둘기를 파는 장사군들과 돈장사군들이 앉아있는 것을 보고15 바줄로 채찍을 만들어 양과 소를 모두 쫓아내고 돈장사군들의 돈을 쏟아버리며 그 상을 둘러엎으셨다.16 그리고 비둘기장사군들에게 ≪이것들을 거두어가라. 다시는 내 아버지의 집을 장사하는 집으로 만들지 말라.≫ 하고 꾸짖으셨다.17 이 광경을 본 제자들의 머리에는 ≪하나님이시여. 하나님의 집을 아끼는 내 열정이 나를 불사르리이다.≫ 하신 성서의 말씀이 떠올랐다.
Luke 19
45 And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold,46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.”

1 ≪보아라. 나 이제 특사를 보내여 나의 행차길을 닦으리라. 그는 너희가 애타게 기다리는 너희의 상전이다. 그가 곧 자기 궁궐에 나타나리라. 너희는 그가 와서 계약을 맺어주기를 기다리지 않느냐. 보아라. 이제 그가 온다. 만군의 여호와가 말한다.2 그가 오는 날, 누가 당해내랴. 그가 나타나는 날, 누가 버티여내랴. 그는 대장간의 불길같고 빨래터의 재물같으리라.
